Bernhard A. Bang
1924 - 2009

Gentlemen, It's with regret that I inform you we lost a member of our society and a personal friend of mine for some 35 yrs, Bernhard A. Bang, on 8/1/09 at 1AM, after a short battle with cancer. Bing, as we all called him, served as an elder on the session with me at Second Presbyterian Church during the early 80's right after Rev. Ernest Smart started his pastorate in 1981. Since 2003, Bing & I served as trustees at our new church, St. Andrew's Christian Community.  Bing and Malcolm Dutterer along with Ernest were instrumental in starting our church.

Bing joined SASB on 3/1/2005.  He served in the U.S. Navy from 7/1/1943 to 6/30/1946 and was in the Clan MacDougall. He was sponsored for membership in SASB by Ernest Smart and Malcolm Dutterer, with whom he worked for the Lord and by whom he was greatly admired. Your prayers for his wife Elizabeth and family are greatly appreciated.

More information will follow; please contact Rev. Ernest Smart. A memorial service will be sometime in Sept. 2009.

Yours, Aye - Dave Zimmerman
